How the calculation works
Net proceeds = sale price × (1 − fee rate) − fixed fee − your shipping costs. Profit or loss = net proceeds − purchase cost. To find the break-even sale price, divide purchase cost plus shipping and the fixed fee by (1 − fee rate). We round the required sale price up to the next cent.
An example
Sell for €100 after paying €70, with €5 shipping and a 10% fee. Net proceeds are €85 and profit before tax is €15. The 10% is an example, not a current marketplace rate.
Which costs should you include?
Use the total paid by the buyer if fees apply to that total. Enter your actual postage and packaging costs. Include earlier grading and acquisition expenses in purchase cost if appropriate. Taxes, your time and complex tiered fees are not included.
